(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 9-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — WACKER has once again earned top recognition for its climate protection efforts, achieving an A rating in the Climate category of the 2025 sustainability assessments conducted by CDP. The result places WACKER among the leading performers worldwide for climate transparency and action, following an independent evaluation of more than 22,100 companies.

The A rating marks the third consecutive year that WACKER has reached CDP’s highest performance level in the Climate category, underscoring the consistency of its climate protection management. CDP’s annual ratings are widely used by investors and stakeholders to compare environmental performance across companies and are based on standardized disclosures covering Climate Change, Water Security, and Forests.

Peter Gigler, Head of ESG at WACKER, said the company deliberately subjects its sustainability performance to independent review each year through CDP’s assessment process. He noted that maintaining the top climate score for a third time reflects WACKER’s ongoing commitment to transparency, robust data quality, and credible transformation strategies.

CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, is a non-profit organization that encourages companies, cities, and regions to disclose their environmental impacts in order to accelerate investment in a sustainable economy. Using investor-backed questionnaires, CDP evaluates reported data on environmental risks, targets, governance structures, and progress. Scores range from A, representing leadership and best practice, to F, indicating insufficient disclosure.

In addition to its strong climate performance, WACKER also received high ratings in the Water and Forests categories. The company achieved an A- rating, corresponding to the Leadership level, in Water Security, confirming its continued strong position in responsible water management. In the Forests category, WACKER earned a B rating, reflecting Management level performance.

According to CDP, companies included in the top performance groups are distinguished by comprehensive, high-quality disclosures that provide a clear picture of environmental impacts and long-term transition plans. WACKER’s results demonstrate its ability to deliver transparent, comparable sustainability data for customers, investors, and other stakeholders while maintaining a leading role in environmental management within the global chemicals industry.
