(IN BRIEF) WACKER is introducing a groundbreaking silicone emulsion, LIOSIL® FC 3300 E, at the 70th SEPAWA Congress in Berlin, Germany. This emulsion serves as a highly efficient additive for household fabric softeners, enhancing their softening properties and making clothing more absorbent and easy to iron. LIOSIL® FC 3300 E offers various benefits, such as improving fabric wetting, reducing friction, and increasing absorbency for both cotton and synthetic fibers. This innovation opens the door to a new generation of customizable fabric softeners. Additionally, WACKER’s silicone experts will present a talk on fluorine-free impregnation at the congress. You can visit WACKER at booth C492-493 during the event.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 25-Oct-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Wacker Chemie AG (ETR: WCH), a German multinational chemical company, is set to introduce its latest breakthrough product, LIOSIL® FC 3300 E silicone emulsion, at the 70th SEPAWA Congress in Berlin, Germany. This new silicone emulsion has been meticulously developed as an exceptionally efficient additive for household fabric softeners, enhancing their softening capabilities and rendering clothing more absorbent and easier to iron. The SEPAWA Congress is scheduled to take place from October 25 to 27, 20XX.

LIOSIL® FC 3300 E is an emulsion with a high concentration of active ingredients, strategically expanding WACKER’s portfolio of silicone products tailored for fabric softener formulations. This odorless and colorless opaque emulsion boasts user-friendliness, requiring simple integration into fabric softener formulations at the conclusion of the manufacturing process. Notably, this innovative emulsion combines multiple properties of the existing product line.

The active ingredient within LIOSIL® FC 3300 E is an aminofunctional silicone polymer augmented with polyether groups to impart hydrophilicity, thereby enhancing its affinity to water. Consequently, fabric softeners formulated with LIOSIL® FC 3300 E improve fiber wetting properties and enable fabrics to absorb more moisture. As a result, these fabric softeners are highly adaptable for applications where rapid moisture absorption is vital. In addition to reducing friction like traditional silicone actives, LIOSIL® FC 3300 E silicone polymer lends fabrics an exceptionally soft feel and facilitates easier ironing.

These remarkable effects – the characteristic softness of silicones, simplified ironing, and increased absorbency – are realized on both cotton and synthetic fibers. Importantly, LIOSIL® FC 3300 E overcomes a common issue associated with many commercial fabric softeners, which often render fabrics hydrophobic, causing water to repel. Instead, this innovative emulsion allows cotton to retain its absorbency while rendering synthetics absorbent as well. This breakthrough opens the door to a new generation of fabric softeners that can be tailored to meet consumers’ specific preferences.

At the SEPAWA Congress, WACKER will not only exhibit its cutting-edge products but will also offer valuable insights. On Friday, October 27, esteemed silicone experts Christof Brehm and Peter Horvath will present a talk on fluorine-free impregnation. In their presentation, they will demonstrate that silicone-based impregnation can rival the performance of products containing fluorine-based ingredients (Forum for Innovation – Home Care, room 12 + 13, 9:30 – 9:45 a.m., “Silicones leave no one out in the rain – fluorine-free impregnation, Part II”).
