UK Receives First Shipment of Net Zero Fertiliser at Southampton Port, Advancing Sustainable Agriculture

Grupo Fertiberia’s Impact Zero product line, known for its use of renewable energy during production, was imported by Bartholomews Agri Food, a trusted distributor of sustainable agricultural products. The port authorities, in collaboration with Solent Stevedores, facilitated the efficient unloading of the shipment. This development aligns with the agricultural sector’s shift towards lower emissions and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of zero-emission solutions for farming practices. ABP, the port’s operator, demonstrated its commitment to a net zero future through its Sustainability Strategy and partnership with Bartholomews Agri Food and Solent Stevedores, exemplifying their collective efforts to achieve sustainability goals.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 14-Jul-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — In a UK first, a shipment of green fertiliser arrived in Southampton this week. The fertiliser, part of Grupo Fertiberia’s Impact Zero product line, which utilises renewable energy in its manufacturing, was imported by Bartholomews Agri Food, a trusted advisor to farmers and distributor of high-quality and sustainable products to customers across the UK.

ABP is working closely with our partners across the Port, including Solent Stevedores, to ensure this market-leading shipment reaches its customers quickly, efficiently and in top condition. Solent Stevedores operate the dry bulk terminal at the Port and unloaded the fertiliser for Bartholomews Agri Food.

Like all sectors of the economy, agriculture is transitioning to a much lower emissions and more sustainable future. Zero emissions solutions for the nutrient needs of farming will form a key part of this future whilst maintaining the high levels of productivity and quality that we all rely on.
