The agreement includes support for high-profile tournaments such as the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, and the African Schools Football Championship, aimed at promoting youth football. This partnership, initially formed in 2016, demonstrates TotalEnergies’ commitment to fostering football’s growth in Africa and supporting its values of unity and diversity. The extended deal also highlights TotalEnergies’ role in supporting CAF’s broader goals of enhancing the sport’s competitiveness and youth development across the continent.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 29-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — In a landmark development following the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Final Draw, Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, and Dr Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), have formalized the extension of their collaboration for an additional four years. This renewed partnership, effective from 2025, will see TotalEnergies continue as the sponsor of 12 key CAF events, spanning across the next four years.

As part of the extended agreement, TotalEnergies will remain a key sponsor of major CAF tournaments, including the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024, the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, and the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2027. TotalEnergies is also expanding its involvement with African football by becoming a partner of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, CAF’s flagship initiative promoting youth football for both girls and boys across the continent starting in 2025.

The TotalEnergies and CAF partnership, which began in 2016, has seen the company become the principal sponsor for over 1,500 matches and the title sponsor of ten major CAF championships, including the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Between 2025 and 2028, TotalEnergies will continue to support several key events across African football, including various national and inter-club competitions.
