(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 2-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — SUEZ has entered into a joint venture agreement with Sonadezi, a state-owned company that develops and manages 11 large-scale industrial parks in Vietnam, to deliver integrated environmental solutions at the largest industrial park in South Vietnam. This collaboration represents SUEZ’s inaugural project in an industrial park in Vietnam and its 22nd such initiative in Asia, underscoring its dedication to promoting sustainable growth in the region through circular and resilient industrial water and waste management solutions.

François Fevrier, CEO Water and R&R of SUEZ Asia, commented, “This partnership is a significant milestone as we expand into Vietnam’s industrial park sector. Our proven expertise in managing environmental services across 22 industrial parks in Asia will now help us contribute to Vietnam’s industrial evolution. We are excited to work alongside Sonadezi to support the country’s drive for a sustainable future by delivering innovative water and waste solutions.”

Vietnam, which established its first industrial park in 1963, now boasts over 400 such facilities. To tackle challenges like enhancing wastewater quality, stabilizing effluents from treatment plants, and upgrading pipeline conditions, the government has introduced stringent environmental and discharge regulations aimed at fostering high-quality industrial development. In line with the nation’s environmental transition goals, 40% to 50% of Vietnam’s localities are targeting the conversion of existing industrial parks into eco-industrial parks by 2030. With its extensive experience, SUEZ is ideally positioned to help advance these initiatives.

Located just over an hour from Ho Chi Minh City, the Chau Duc Industrial Park is South Vietnam’s largest and serves as a crucial hub for industrial activities. It acts as a gateway for international investments in burgeoning sectors like semiconductors, mechanics, and automotive accessories, playing a pivotal role in the nation’s economic growth.

In the first phase of this joint venture, SUEZ and Sonadezi will upgrade and manage the existing wastewater treatment facilities, delivering comprehensive wastewater solutions to more than 100 industrial clients within Chau Duc Industrial Park. As the park rapidly develops and environmental standards continue to rise, the new venture will also explore opportunities to enhance water and waste services through state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technologies.

With a legacy spanning 160 years in water and waste management, SUEZ has provided integrated environmental solutions to 22 major industrial parks in Asia over the past two decades. In Vietnam, SUEZ has been a key partner since 1955, supporting sustainable drinking water and wastewater projects through over 20 initiatives. This agreement marks another important step in SUEZ’s ongoing mission to offer reliable, cost-efficient environmental solutions that help industrial clients manage effluents and waste while supporting Vietnam’s sustainability targets.
