(PRESS RELEASE) WALLDORF, 30-Jul-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) has announced that Executive Board Members Scott Russell and Julia White will be stepping down from the company’s Executive Board, effective August 31. This decision was reached through a mutual agreement with the SAP Supervisory Board.

Scott Russell, Chief Revenue Officer, has been instrumental in guiding SAP customers worldwide in their transition to cloud solutions. His efforts have enabled SAP to fully leverage its best-of-suite offerings, ensuring that customers maximize their agility and innovation through SAP solutions. The search for Russell’s successor is currently underway, and SAP CEO Christian Klein will temporarily oversee the sales organization.

Julia White, Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer, has successfully revamped SAP’s marketing and communications strategies and built a robust product marketing function to support a cloud-first approach. SAP has decided to enhance the synergy between product marketing and product teams by merging these functions. Consequently, the distinct Marketing & Solutions Board area will be dissolved, streamlining the Executive Board structure effective September 1.

Pekka Ala-Pietilä, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SAP SE, commented, “Given SAP’s ongoing successful cloud transformation, the Supervisory Board believes this is the right moment to usher in the next era of growth. We extend our gratitude to Scott Russell and Julia White for their significant contributions and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”

SAP CEO Christian Klein added, “Scott and Julia have been pivotal in SAP’s successful cloud business transition and our leadership in Business AI. I want to express my gratitude for their unwavering dedication to our clients and partners and join the Supervisory Board in wishing them all the best for the future.”

This strategic transition comes at a time when SAP is in a strong position. The changes are expected to further accelerate the company’s transformation and enhance its focus on a suite- and AI-first strategy, reinforcing SAP’s standing as a leading enterprise software provider.
