(PRESS RELEASE) BOZEMAN, MT, United States/ WALLDORF, 5-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP), a global leader in enterprise applications and business AI, has announced a new collaboration with Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW), the AI Data Cloud company, to integrate the SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) with Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud. The partnership aims to empower organizations with seamless access to semantically rich, real-time data, enabling them to build intelligent applications and accelerate AI-driven business outcomes with greater efficiency and governance.

The collaboration introduces the SAP Snowflake solution extension for SAP Business Data Cloud, combining SAP’s decades of expertise in mission-critical business processes with Snowflake’s unified data and AI platform. Through this integration, enterprises will gain the flexibility to harmonize SAP and non-SAP data, optimize compute and storage costs, and create AI-enabled applications grounded in trusted business data products — all within a single, governed environment.

A key innovation of the partnership is zero-copy data sharing, which allows customers to access SAP data in Snowflake instantly and securely, without duplication. This approach provides data and AI teams with real-time access to semantically rich SAP data products for analytics, machine learning, and intelligent application development, while maintaining interoperability and governance.

“By tightly integrating SAP and Snowflake, we’re making it simple for enterprises to connect their critical business data with the power of seamless AI app and data agent development at scale in Snowflake,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product at Snowflake. Irfan Khan, President and Chief Product Officer for SAP Data and Analytics, added, “Bringing Snowflake to SAP Business Data Cloud empowers our customers with openness and choice. Together, we’re delivering a unified, enterprise-ready experience that extends the value of business data across the entire ecosystem.”

The partnership also includes SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Snowflake, enabling bidirectional, zero-copy data sharing between both platforms. Existing Snowflake users can now integrate their current instances with SAP Business Data Cloud for real-time, semantically rich data access, streamlining workflows while maintaining full governance and transparency.

Through SAP Snowflake, customers can:

  • Unify data landscapes by harmonizing SAP and non-SAP data through an integrated business data fabric.
  • Accelerate AI and analytics by grounding AI models in semantically rich data for more context-aware, secure applications.
  • Build intelligent enterprise applications faster using trusted SAP data products that enhance innovation and reduce complexity.

Industry leaders such as AstraZeneca are already collaborating with SAP and Snowflake to advance their data and AI strategies. “Data and AI are central to achieving our mission, and our close collaboration with SAP and Snowflake enhances our ability to access, process, and analyze real-time data,” said Russell Smith, Vice President of ERP Transformation Technology at AstraZeneca. “This partnership will help us deliver breakthroughs for patients faster.”

SAP Snowflake is expected to be generally available in Q1 2026, while SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Snowflake will follow in H1 2026, marking a major step toward a more open, AI-driven, and data-intelligent enterprise future.
