Safran Passenger Innovations Partners with Skyted to Introduce Silent Inflight Communication

(IN BRIEF) Safran Passenger Innovations has entered into an exclusive agreement with Skyted to integrate silent and confidential voice communication technology into its RAVE In-Flight Entertainment systems. The collaboration enables discreet inflight calls that preserve cabin quietness while supporting productivity and secure digital experiences for passengers. Delivered through SPI’s RAVE Open Platform, the integration reflects a shared vision to bring next-generation inflight services to airlines as connectivity capabilities continue to expand. The partnership combines SPI’s industrial leadership with Skyted’s deeptech innovation to advance the future of onboard communication.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 2-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Safran Passenger Innovations has signed an exclusive agreement with Skyted, the deeptech startup specializing in silent and confidential voice communication, to integrate Skyted’s silent call technology into SPI’s RAVE In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems. The partnership represents a significant advancement in secure inflight communication and introduces a new approach to enhancing the passenger experience through quiet, private connectivity.

The collaboration enables Skyted’s technology to be embedded directly within SPI’s RAVE IFE ecosystem, allowing passengers to conduct voice calls that are captured at the source and prevented from diffusing into the surrounding cabin environment. This capability supports confidential conversations on board without disturbing other passengers, contributes to a quieter cabin atmosphere, and reduces the need for cabin crew intervention. The solution also enhances productivity for business travelers while strengthening the security and quality of the inflight digital experience.

The integration is delivered through SPI’s RAVE Open Platform, which is designed to seamlessly incorporate innovative third-party technologies into the RAVE IFE system. Through this open architecture, SPI continues to expand the range of digital services available to airlines, aligning inflight entertainment and connectivity offerings with the rapid evolution of onboard broadband capabilities and passenger expectations.

John Andrews, Vice President of Business Development at Safran Passenger Innovations, emphasized that as inflight connectivity becomes increasingly robust, airlines are looking for digital services that anticipate future passenger needs. He noted that Skyted’s silent communication technology introduces a disruptive onboard capability that enables confidential calls while fully preserving cabin quietness and supporting an “office in the sky” environment.

Stéphane Hersen, Chief Executive Officer of Skyted, highlighted the scalability of the technology, explaining that Skyted makes it possible for large numbers of passengers to make voice calls simultaneously while speaking softly, remaining clearly audible, and avoiding disruption to others — even when conversations involve sensitive or confidential matters.

The agreement also supports Skyted’s broader development roadmap and reflects a shared ambition to redefine onboard communication. By combining Safran Passenger Innovations’ industrial expertise with Skyted’s deeptech innovation, the partnership aims to establish a new standard for inflight communication that is silent, secure, and scalable, marking a meaningful technological step forward for airlines, passengers, and the future of air travel.
