Rolls-Royce Celebrates Delivery of 9,000th Jet Engine from Dahlewitz Facility, Marking Key Milestone

(IN BRIEF) Rolls-Royce marks a major production milestone with the delivery of its 9,000th engine from the Dahlewitz facility. The Pearl 700 engine will power a Gulfstream G700, further solidifying the site’s role as a Centre of Excellence for two-shaft engines. With over 6,100 engines powering business jets, Rolls-Royce is positioned for continued growth, with expectations of a 7-9% annual increase in powered aircraft and a forecast for engine flying hours to reach 120-130% of 2019 levels in the mid-term. The company plans to invest £30 million at Dahlewitz and recruit more than 100 people to support growing demand.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 21-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) today celebrates a significant production milestone with the delivery of its 9,000th jet engine from the Dahlewitz site, located south of Berlin, Germany. The landmark engine, a Pearl 700, is destined for Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia, where it will power the Gulfstream G700.

Since the start of production in June 1995, the Dahlewitz facility has grown to become the Centre of Excellence for Rolls-Royce’s two-shaft engines. Today, the site employs approximately 2,400 people from over 60 nations and plays a key role in Rolls-Royce’s strategy to expand its presence in the business aviation market. It is here that the company develops, manufactures, and maintains its advanced jet engines.

The 9,000 engines produced at Dahlewitz include a variety of models, such as the Pearl 10X, Pearl 15, Pearl 700, BR710, BR715, BR725, Tay 611-8/-8C, V2500, and Trent XWB-84. Over 6,100 of these engines are currently powering business jets. Dahlewitz also hosts advanced development and testing facilities for Rolls-Royce’s pioneering power gearbox, part of the UltraFan® demonstrator programme.

Dr. Dirk Geisinger, Chairman of Rolls-Royce Deutschland, commented: “The production of 9,000 engines in Brandenburg is a remarkable achievement, and I am incredibly proud of this milestone. It reflects three decades of dedication and teamwork. Dahlewitz is a cornerstone of our future ambitions, and we look forward to the 10,000th delivery.”

Looking ahead, Rolls-Royce expects the number of Rolls-Royce-powered aircraft in service to increase by 7-9% annually through the remainder of the decade. The company forecasts engine flying hours will reach 120-130% of 2019 levels in the mid-term. To support this growth, Rolls-Royce announced a £30 million investment in the Dahlewitz site in 2023, alongside plans to recruit over 100 people to meet the near-term services demand for its Trent 1000 engines. In 2026, the site will begin assembling and testing the Trent XWB-84, the world’s most efficient large aero-engine in service.
