Random Acts of Kindness Day celebrated with secretly hidden gifts at Humber ports

LONDON, 20-Feb-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — Thoughtful gifts were secretly hidden around the Humber ports this week to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day on Saturday, 17th February.

The four day campaign ends on a high as staff working on quaysides or in offices will be surprised to find golden envelopes containing a thank you message and a £5 note. Unbeknown to them, several envelopes have been secretly planted in cranes, machinery, drinks caddies and in desk drawers.

It is predicted that around 300 staff and customers will be touched by the campaign one way or another including treats being given out at security gates, colourful plants left on desks and various feel-good quotes placed on mirrors.
The ABP Humber leadership team also got involved in the act as they handed out sweet treats to over 30 canteens and offices with a handwritten note from each of the 11 managers.

“We’re lucky to have a dedicated workforce of over 1,050 people across the Humber in various roles including marine, operations, finance and planning,” said ABP Humber Director, Simon Bird.

ABP owns and operates 21 ports across England, Scotland and Wales and closer to home, this includes four ports across the River Humber- Goole, Hull, Immingham and Grimsby.

The Humber is a gateway for trade handling over £75 billion worth of cargo each year including containers, cars, forest products and steel to name a few.
