(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 24-Jul-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — With three days remaining before the first victory ceremony of the Paris 2024 Games, the organizing committee has unveiled a special edition medallist mascot that will be presented to all Games medallists after their competitions.

Honoring Tradition at the Paris 2024 Games

Winning a medal at the Olympic or Paralympic Games and stepping onto the podium while hearing their country’s anthem is the pinnacle for every athlete. Continuing a longstanding tradition, Paris 2024 will present each medallist with a mascot and the Games’ Iconic Poster alongside their medals.

Presentation Details

For the Olympic Games, medallists will receive the poster during the victory ceremony and the mascot afterwards in the Village. For the Paralympic Games, the mascot will be presented during the victory ceremony, and the poster will be given later. These presentations will be made by 515 Paris 2024 Volunteers.

Unique Edition of Official Mascots

Paris 2024 collaborated with the Doudou & Compagnie Group to create a special medallist version of the Phryges mascots, which are an iconic symbol of the Games. These mascots are made in France, at the Doudou & Compagnie factory in La Guerche-de-Bretagne. The medallist mascots feature gold, silver, or bronze colors on the medal emblem sewn on their belly, on their sneakers, and on the letters spelling out “Bravo” on their back. The number of mascots produced will match the number of medallists at the Games.

Iconic Posters and Limited Edition Prints

The Games’ Iconic Posters, unveiled in March, will also be presented to medallists in their Olympic or Paralympic versions. Additionally, a limited celebration edition of the poster will be available for purchase, with 2,024 prints going on sale from 25 July on the Paris 2024 online store.
