(PRESS RELEASE) LEINFELDEN-ECHTERDINGEN, 18-Sept-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Mercedes-Benz Trucks will showcase the breadth of its legacy and future vision at the South German Historic Commercial Vehicle Meet, taking place on 20–21 September 2025 at the Sinsheim Technology Museum. More than 180 restored vintage trucks and buses from the 1920s through the 1980s will be on display, with Mercedes-Benz Trucks contributing 16 vehicles — including 14 highlights from its Classic collection and two cutting-edge eActros 600 models.

The event, held in partnership with the South German Truck Veterans Association, offers visitors a unique chance to experience the evolution of commercial transport. “By presenting both historic icons and our most advanced electric trucks, we are bridging the past and the future of mobility,” says Bernd Hufendiek, who leads Mercedes-Benz Trucks Classic.

Historic legends meet sustainable mobility
Among the Classic vehicles on display are the LP 1620, LP 608, L 5000, L 6600 fire truck, French Army Unimog, and O 3500 bus, each representing milestones in commercial vehicle design and performance. Alongside these, visitors can ride in the fully electric eActros 600, experiencing quiet, powerful, and emission-free technology that reflects Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ forward-looking approach.

Ride-along experiences and family-friendly program
Guests will be able to join ride-alongs in select vintage models such as the L 311, LP 323, L 1113, and the O 3500 bus. To ensure safety, a signed liability waiver is required before participating. The event is free to attend, with driving demonstrations running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Trucker lounge and expert consultations
At the outdoor grounds beneath the museum’s iconic submarine, the trucker lounge will serve as the central hub of activity. Visitors can obtain information about rides, while Classic Partner Dreyer will provide consultations on spare parts, restoration, and maintenance for vintage vehicles.

Preserving heritage, advancing technology
The South German Historic Commercial Vehicle Meet is one of the largest events of its kind in Europe, attracting enthusiasts, families, and technology fans alike. For Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the event underscores a dual mission: to preserve the cultural and technical heritage of commercial vehicles, while continuing to innovate for a sustainable, zero-emission future.
