Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 Takes Center Stage at Oktoberfest with Impressive Beer and Pretzel Deliveries

(IN BRIEF) Mercedes-Benz’s eActros 600 played a key role in supplying Munich’s Oktoberfest, delivering around 82,000 liters of beer and fresh pretzels. The electric truck, operated by Lettl Transportation GmbH, transported beer for the Hofbräuhaus Brewery using a 27,500-liter tank semitrailer, making nightly trips to the festival site. In addition, the eActros 600 facilitated the delivery of fresh pretzels from Höflinger Müller GmbH, which produces them at a bakery near the event. Launched in late 2023, the eActros 600 boasts a battery capacity of over 600 kilowatt-hours, achieving a range of 500 kilometers and supporting efficient long-distance transport. The series production of this innovative electric truck will begin in November 2024.

(PRESS RELEASE)  LEINFELDEN-ECHTERDINGEN/MUNICH, 3-Oct-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — As Oktoberfest kicked off in Munich on September 21, the demand for beer surged, and the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 stepped up to the challenge, transporting approximately 82,000 liters of beer along with fresh pretzels to the festival.

Lettl Transportation GmbH Supplies Hofbräuhaus Munich

During the nighttime hours, Lettl Transportation utilized the eActros 600, equipped with a 27,500-liter tank semitrailer, to deliver beer for the Hofbräuhaus Brewery Munich. Over the course of three nights, the electric truck, filled at the brewery, made its way to Theresienwiese, stopping at four stations at the Hofbräu tent to ensure that the beer was delivered to the right barrels.

Fresh Pretzels from Höflinger Müller GmbH

In addition to beer, the eActros 600 played a vital role in delivering fresh pretzels to Oktoberfest. The Höflinger Müller bakery, known for its two-shift production of pretzels at a dedicated bakery on the Olympic grounds near the festival, relied on the electric truck equipped with a refrigerated semitrailer to transport its baking blanks. This traditional company also operates two eActros 300 trucks and is currently delivering pretzels to the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart using their Mercedes-Benz fleet.

About the eActros 600

The eActros 600, designed for long-distance transport, made its world debut at the end of 2023. With a remarkable battery capacity exceeding 600 kilowatt-hours, the eActros 600 can achieve a range of 500 kilometers under realistic conditions with a gross combination mass of 40 tons. Depending on driving style and route, this range can be significantly exceeded, allowing for well over 1,000 kilometers of travel per day with intermediate charging during statutory driver breaks. In addition to CCS charging capabilities of up to 400 kW, the eActros 600 will also support megawatt charging in the future.

Visually, the long-haul electric truck features a minimalist design characterized by clean lines and an aerodynamic profile. For fleet operators, the eActros 600 sets new standards in profitability, aiming to replace the majority of diesel trucks in the long-distance transport sector over time. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is committed to providing a comprehensive transportation solution for battery-powered long-distance haulage, including vehicle technology, consulting, charging infrastructure, and services under the new TruckCharge brand. The series production of the eActros 600 will commence at the end of November at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, with the first customer vehicles expected to be manufactured and registered by the end of 2024.
