Maersk Unveils Largest Philippine Distribution Center to Bolster Southern Luzon Trade and Connectivity

Moller – Maersk has inaugurated its largest distribution center in the Philippines, the 10-hectare Maersk Optimus Distribution Center in Calamba, Laguna. The inauguration, attended by Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Trade Secretary Cristina A. Roque, marks a significant milestone for Maersk’s logistics operations in the region. This flagship facility, with a storage capacity of 76,000 pallets and 75 docks, will serve as a major logistics hub for Southern Luzon, enhancing import and export activity for regions like Bicol and CALABARZON.

President Marcos emphasized the center’s role in connecting industries and communities across the Philippines, while also encouraging continued investment in logistics for national growth. Designed with sustainability in mind, Maersk Optimus aims for LEED certification and includes energy-efficient and eco-friendly technologies.

The facility, equipped with a Fleet Operational Control Centre (FOCC), offers efficient fleet management and will integrate various logistics services for industries such as consumer goods, food and beverage, healthcare, and automotive. Secretary Roque praised the investment for boosting regional economic activity, easing congestion in Metro Manila, and enhancing the Philippines’ logistics competitiveness.
