BRUSSELS, 26-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — The EU Senate – Kosovo Economic Summit occurred in London on 20 April. Benedikt Gruetz, the VP of the EU Senate presided over the 2-day program and Mr. Laun Dalipi, the chief of staff of Kosovo’s Prime Minister addressed the attendees over a live steam conference.

The summit featured a closed-door event with carefully selected guests of entrepreneurs, industrialists, and global investors. The message from the prime minister is clear and straightforward, “Kosovo is open for business”, Mr. Luan Dalipi declared during the interview with BBC R3’s Daisie Downer.

The EU Senate is actively involved in paving the way to transform the Kosovo’s economic transformation, further strengthening its economic ties within the region. With technology, innovation, and modernizing infrastructure at the core of the vision, Kosovo’s economic strategy is committed to improving its domestic economic position as well as supporting international efforts on sustainability.

Under the leadership of Albin Kurti, a clear vision for the future is driving forward reformation efforts. His administration is taking massive leaps in introducing adaptable policy frameworks, regulatory changes, and a flexible business and corporate environment to attract businesses and investment into the country.

“Kosovo as a country is younger than Tesla and about the same age as Bitcoin, Uber, or Airbnb. These startups emerged out of nowhere and now dominate the economies in their sectors. In order to underpin its progress, Kosovo thinks like a startup. With a study-based approach to creating a technology economy and sector selection, blue-sky policy thinking, large investments in infrastructure, a foreign investor-friendly business environment, and unwavering commitment to fighting the climate crisis, we are positioned to become a stronger economic destination for businesses across the globe and a reliable partner within the region of Europe”, says Luan Dalipi.

Several global companies and investors are starting to give serious consideration to Kosovo as Europe’s next destination for new opportunities and promising growth.
