Investor AB Eyes Next-Gen Leadership as Fred Wallenberg Nominated to Replace Gunnar Brock at 2025 AGM

(IN BRIEF) Gunnar Brock, a veteran of the Investor Board since 2009, will not be seeking re-election at the 2025 AGM, and the Nomination Committee has proposed Fred Wallenberg as his replacement. Fred, currently the Business Development and M&A Director at Piab Group and with extensive international experience in finance and investment, represents the next generation of the Wallenberg family. Nomination Committee Chair Leif Johansson expressed confidence that Wallenberg’s diverse background and academic credentials will significantly contribute to Investor AB’s future growth. (PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 11-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Gunnar Brock, a longstanding member of the Investor Board since 2009, has notified the Nomination Committee that he will not be standing for re-election at the 2025 Annual General Meeting. In his place, the committee is putting forward Fred Wallenberg as its nominee for a seat on Investor AB’s Board of Directors.

Fred Wallenberg, born in 1990, currently serves as Business Development and M&A Director at Piab Group. His career spans several roles, including CFO and Investment Manager at Navigare Ventures, as well as positions at Prorsum Capital in Switzerland, Patricia Industries, Brown Brothers Harriman in New York, and Temasek Holdings in Singapore. Wallenberg holds an MBA from IMD Business School in Lausanne along with a BBA in International Business from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. 

Leif Johansson, Chair of the Nomination Committee at Investor AB, expressed confidence in Wallenberg’s appointment, highlighting his diverse background, international experience, and representation of the next generation of the Wallenberg family—a lineage synonymous with long-term owner engagement. Fred Wallenberg himself stated, “I am humble and grateful for the confidence shown by the Nomination Committee, and I hope to contribute to the work of further developing Investor as a member of the Board.” The Nomination Committee will continue to finalize its proposal, with full details to be released in conjunction with the notice for the 2025 AGM.
