Henkel’s Pritt strengthens global education support with EUR 100,000 donation to UNICEF through ‘We craft for children’

(IN BRIEF) Henkel, through its adhesives brand Pritt, has donated EUR 100,000 to UNICEF as part of its ‘We craft for children’ initiative, supporting education programs in humanitarian contexts, particularly in Africa. The donation can help provide around 660 ‘School-in-a-Box’ kits, giving more than 26,000 vulnerable children the opportunity to continue their education in times of crisis. Since its creation in 1969, Pritt has promoted creativity and learning, and since the launch of its CSR program in 2019, the initiative has supported 14 NGOs worldwide. Mark Dorn, Executive Vice President of Henkel Adhesive Technologies, emphasized the company’s mission to expand educational access and strengthen its global impact through partnerships like UNICEF.

(PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 6-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Henkel has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting children’s education worldwide through its leading adhesives brand, Pritt. As part of its annual ‘We craft for children’ initiative, the company has donated EUR 100,000 to UNICEF to strengthen education programs, particularly in humanitarian settings across Africa.

Operating in more than 190 countries and territories, UNICEF works under the principle of “for every child,” safeguarding children’s rights, ensuring access to health and education, and enabling them to reach their full potential. Henkel’s donation will contribute directly to UNICEF’s education programs, helping children in vulnerable environments continue their studies despite crisis or displacement.

One example of how the funding can be used is the provision of ‘School-in-a-Box’ kits—a portable classroom concept that contains school supplies for up to 40 children. These durable metal boxes include essentials such as notebooks, pencils, rulers, slates, chalk, sharpeners, scissors, and school bags. With this support, more than 26,000 children could benefit from renewed access to education, enabling learning continuity and restoring a sense of normalcy in emergencies.

Pritt, invented in 1969, has been synonymous with encouraging creativity and motor skills in children through glue crafting at home and in schools. Over the years, the brand has also broadened its role with corporate social responsibility projects designed to improve access to quality education. Since the launch of ‘We craft for children’ at Pritt’s 50th anniversary in 2019, Henkel has donated a mid-six-digit Euro sum to 14 NGOs worldwide, underlining the brand’s commitment to educational support beyond traditional product use.

“Supporting children and helping them express their imagination has been central to Pritt’s mission since the very beginning,” said Mark Dorn, Executive Vice President responsible for Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies business. “Our long-term commitment is to ensure children everywhere have access to quality education. Partnering with UNICEF allows us to elevate our initiative to the next level, extending our impact on vulnerable communities and creating brighter futures for children worldwide.”
