Henkel Showcases Low-Carbon Adhesive Innovation and RecycLab for PPWR Readiness at FACHPACK

(IN BRIEF) Henkel Adhesive Technologies will showcase a carbon-optimized hot-melt adhesive and resource-efficient solutions for end-of-line and fiber-based packaging at FACHPACK 2025 in Nuremberg. A new low-carbon hot-melt product, unchanged in chemistry and performance, debuts in September to support customer climate goals. Henkel will also lead sessions on the forthcoming Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation, offering comprehensive advisory services from adhesive selection through machinery integration. Additionally, the Packaging RecycLab—a realistic recycling simulation facility—enables early validation of packaging recyclability. Felicia Forster emphasizes that a unified perspective on adhesives, substrates, equipment and sustainability is essential for both compliance and competitive advantage.

(PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 31-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Henkel Adhesive Technologies will lead the conversation on packaging transformation at FACHPACK 2025, running September 23–25 in Nuremberg under the theme “Transition in Packaging.” At Hall 1, Booth 153, Henkel will unveil low-carbon hot-melt adhesives and resource-efficient products for end-of-line and fiber-based packaging, alongside its new regulatory support offerings.

A headline innovation in Henkel’s hot-melt portfolio is a re-engineered product slated for market launch in September. While retaining its proven chemistry and bonding strength, this version reduces carbon emissions significantly—helping customers hit climate targets without altering performance.

Facing the impending Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Henkel will host expert discussions on compliance strategies. Though many PPWR details remain pending until 2027, machinery and process adaptations must begin now to avoid project delays. Henkel’s end-to-end advisory—spanning adhesive selection, substrate compatibility, machine integration and process optimization—ensures seamless transition and market readiness.

To further support PPWR compliance, Henkel has developed the “Packaging RecycLab,” a modular testing environment that replicates real-world recycling conditions. Brands and converters can validate recyclability at the design stage, building robust data foundations for future-proof packaging concepts.

“Our ambition is to shape the packaging industry’s future through deep expertise and bold innovation,” said Felicia Forster, Market Strategy Manager Packaging & Labeling EIMEA at Henkel. “Success requires a holistic approach—integrating adhesives, substrates, machinery and sustainability to meet both regulatory mandates and customer expectations.”
