(PRESS RELEASE) ESSEN, 20-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Evonik has introduced Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI, a new anti-graffiti solution designed as an alternative to PFAS-based products, combining durability with simplified maintenance for building surfaces. The product is based on advanced silane chemistry and is positioned to meet increasing regulatory requirements and sustainability expectations within the construction and building protection sectors.

Developed to provide long-lasting surface protection, the formulation creates a strong chemical bond with building materials, allowing graffiti to be removed cleanly without leaving visible residues or shadows. The protective layer maintains its effectiveness even after multiple cleaning cycles, helping to reduce ongoing maintenance requirements while preserving the appearance of treated surfaces over time.

The launch reflects Evonik’s broader focus on delivering responsible chemical solutions that address both performance and environmental considerations. The new product has been designed to offer a high level of functionality while reducing reliance on substances that are subject to growing regulatory scrutiny.

Although the formulation does not intentionally include PFAS, Evonik acknowledges that trace amounts may still occur due to the nature of global industrial supply chains. The company continues to work on minimising these traces and improving its production processes in line with its sustainability commitments.

Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI will be presented at EUROCOAT in Paris from 24 to 26 March, where it will be showcased in collaboration with SAFIC-ALCAN, one of Evonik’s long-standing distribution partners. The event will provide an opportunity to demonstrate the product’s performance in real-world building protection applications.
