Egmont Announces Board Change with Appointment of Eva Berneke

(IN BRIEF) Egmont has announced that Eva Berneke will join its board of directors in March 2026, replacing Martin Enderle, who is stepping down after 12 years. Berneke brings extensive executive and board experience from leading international companies and will support Egmont’s continued development in a changing media landscape.

(PRESS RELEASE) COPENHAGEN, 12-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Egmont has announced a change to its board of directors, with Eva Berneke set to join the boards of Egmont Fonden and Egmont International Holding A/S at the company’s general assembly in March 2026. At the same time, Martin Enderle will step down after 12 years of service, in line with the foundation’s seniority rules.

Eva Berneke brings extensive leadership and board-level experience from large international organizations. She holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and an MBA from INSEAD. Over the course of her career, she has served as CEO of both Eutelsat and KMD, held executive roles at TDC, and worked as a consultant and partner at McKinsey & Co. Berneke currently sits on the board of Vestas A/S and has previously been a board member at Schibsted ASA and LEGO A/S.

Commenting on her appointment, Berneke highlighted Egmont’s ability to evolve in a rapidly changing media environment while remaining committed to its core purpose. She noted that Egmont’s dual focus on developing strong storytelling platforms and reinvesting profits into initiatives supporting children and young people at risk makes the foundation’s mission particularly compelling, and said she looks forward to contributing to this work as a board member.

Martin Enderle’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter for Egmont’s board. Since joining in 2014, he has played a key role in the company’s strategic transformation, contributing deep expertise in digital and internet-based business models. His work has supported Egmont’s shift toward larger consumer platforms and subscription-driven businesses.

Egmont Chair Merete Eldrup thanked Enderle for his long-standing contributions and welcomed Berneke to the board, noting that her experience will be valuable as Egmont continues to navigate changes in the media and technology landscape.

Following the changes, Egmont’s board will comprise Chair Merete Eldrup, Vice Chair Tom Knutzen, Christian Wegner, Josh Bottomley, Rebekka Glasser Herlofsen, Eva Berneke, along with employee representatives Anna von Lowzow, Peder Høgild, Charlotte Arnø of Egmont International Holding A/S, and Christina Wester of the Egmont Foundation.
