(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 26-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — DHL Supply Chain and iglo Deutschland have agreed to extend their long-standing logistics partnership for an additional five years, reinforcing a collaboration that has evolved over more than 25 years into a comprehensive end-to-end supply chain operation. Under the renewed agreement, DHL will continue to oversee the central frozen food warehouse and in-plant logistics at iglo’s facility in Reken, Westphalia, while also managing all associated transport logistics across Germany.

The Reken site serves as the primary distribution hub for iglo’s frozen food products nationwide. From this location, DHL ensures the efficient handling, storage and distribution of goods, enabling consistent and reliable delivery to retailers and consumers. Since 2021, DHL has been responsible for the complete on-site logistics operations, supporting high service standards and streamlined supply chain processes.

The extended partnership reflects a shared commitment to operational excellence, supply chain resilience and continuous improvement. Over time, the collaboration has expanded from regional distribution activities into a fully integrated logistics network, playing a critical role in maintaining stable supply flows within Germany’s food retail sector.

A key focus of the agreement is sustainability. DHL is implementing modern transport solutions designed to reduce emissions, including the use of electric trailers, alternative propulsion systems and vehicles powered by liquefied petroleum gas and HVO100, a renewable diesel alternative. These technologies contribute to lowering CO2 emissions while supporting the transition toward more sustainable logistics operations.

The partnership also emphasizes ongoing process optimization. DHL and iglo will continue working together to enhance efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness within the supply chain, ensuring that logistics operations remain adaptable to evolving market demands and environmental requirements.

By combining advanced logistics capabilities with sustainable transport solutions, the collaboration supports a reliable supply of frozen food products across Germany while contributing to broader environmental goals. The agreement underscores the importance of long-term partnerships in delivering consistent quality, operational stability and innovation in the food logistics sector.
