Chinese petrochemical plant to use highly energy-efficient Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers

(PRESS RELEASE) LUND, Sweden, 14-Jan-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Alfa Laval to supply Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers to a petrochemical plant in China. The order is worth approximately EUR 12 million (SEK 125 million) of which around EUR 6 million (SEK 65 million) was booked late December, 2019, and the remaining EUR 5.6 million (SEK 60 million) in January, in the Welded Heat Exchanger unit of the Energy Division. The order is scheduled to be delivered in 2020.

The order includes compact heat exchangers for energy recovery in the petrochemical process which converts mixed xylenes into more valuable high-purity paraxylene, a product utilized in the chain of manufacturing of synthetic fibers.

Susanne Pahlén Åklundh, President of the Energy Division commented: “Our Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers are highly energy-efficient and play a vital role in recovering and reusing energy. They contribute to huge energy savings and reduced emissions which make them a good solution for both our customers and the environment.”

Alfa Laval is a leading global provider of specialized products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling. Its Packinox heat exchanger is ideal for demanding heat recovery duties in processes with high pressures and temperatures. Its outstanding thermal performance, superior hydraulic efficiency and low CAPEX allow you to optimize energy efficiency, increase profitability and improve sustainability. A Packinox enables higher yield and recovers more heat than a shell-and-tube solution, resulting in better ROI and a lower environmental impact.
