(IN BRIEF) Bechtle, a leading IT service provider, is advancing its regional strategy in the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg area with two major construction projects. The company plans to build new office complexes in Bonn’s Bad Godesberg district and in Sankt Augustin. The projects, which have received the necessary permits, are slated to start in the first half of 2025 and finish by the end of 2026, creating modern workspaces for around 650 employees. The Sankt Augustin facility will offer nearly 5,000 m² of space in a dynamic urban setting, integrating offices, logistics, IT installation areas, and parking with EV charging. The Bad Godesberg site will consolidate the company’s long-standing presence with an adaptable design supporting future expansion. Both projects are designed to meet sustainability targets, incorporating renewable energy technologies and aiming for DGNB Gold certification. These developments underline Bechtle’s commitment to regional growth, innovative workplace design, and environmental sustainability.

(PRESS RELEASE) NECKARSULM/ BONN, 28-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — IT service provider Bechtle is set to advance its dual-site strategy in the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg region with the construction of two new office complexes and a multifunctional facility combining parking, logistics, and installation services. In Bonn, a modern building will rise in the Bad Godesberg district near the existing headquarters, while another facility is planned in Sankt Augustin, conveniently located near current Bechtle offices. Both projects, which have already secured the necessary approvals, are scheduled to break ground in the first half of 2025 and are expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The developments will create dynamic, collaborative workspaces for approximately 650 employees. Notably, the Bad Godesberg project offers the potential for additional floors, while the Sankt Augustin site is designed with sustainable features—including solar panels, geothermal systems, and green facades—to facilitate carbon-neutral climate control. In line with the company’s sustainability objectives, Bechtle intends to achieve high-level sustainability certifications for both buildings upon their completion.

The decision to continue with a dual-site approach stems from the strategic value of maintaining an established presence in Bonn and leveraging the region’s robust infrastructure to set up a specialized installation centre that complies with stringent security and regulatory standards.

At the Sankt Augustin location, the project will deliver 4,850 m² of state-of-the-art office and meeting space within the vibrant Klosterhöfe complex in the city centre. This site, situated near prominent institutions like the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University, the Fraunhofer Institutes, the Lamarr Institute, and the German Aerospace Centre, will feature a six-storey office building and an adjoining five-storey structure dedicated to logistics, secure IT installation, and parking with integrated EV charging facilities. Bechtle already operates a branch in Sankt Augustin that focuses on customized software development.

In Bad Godesberg, where Bechtle has maintained a presence for two decades, the relocation of the main office will see a new facility constructed on approximately 4,700 m². This new site will comprise two levels of modern office space and two levels of parking, designed to foster flexible, open-plan work environments and enhanced team collaboration through creative meeting spaces.

Christian Behma, Managing Director of Bechtle IT System House Bonn, emphasizes, “With these two construction projects, we are creating outstanding working conditions for all our teams in the region. The location is fantastic. It’s close to our local customers and to emerging talent at universities, and it perfectly aligns with our culture of open exchange and creative collaboration. These new buildings are a strong commitment to the regional economy, a testament to Bechtle’s long-term vision, and an expression of appreciation for our employees, who dedicate themselves every day to ensuring our customers’ success.”

Moreover, the Sankt Augustin facility will utilize renewable energy sources, featuring solar panels with a 200 kWp output and geothermal systems to cover heating and cooling requirements. Both sites will be equipped with infrastructure to enable simultaneous charging for up to 100 electric vehicles as part of the Bechtle Group’s Charge@Work initiative, with both buildings aiming for Gold certification by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
