(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 2-Oct-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — ABL has announced the appointment of Li Xiang as Regional Director to oversee its rigs, jack-up, and geotechnical services across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Li Xiang will spearhead the company’s activities across ten countries, strengthening ABL’s in-country delivery and enhancing collaboration with its sister companies AGR, Longitude, and OWC, as well as with wider technical teams within ABL Group.

Li Xiang brings nearly 20 years of experience as a geotechnical and structural engineer, with a career dedicated to supporting rigs and jack-ups throughout their operational lifecycle. During his 15 years at ABL, he has contributed to both renewable energy and oil & gas projects, not only across Asia-Pacific but also in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. His record includes managing over 5,000 rig moves for oil and gas operations and securing more than 500 location approvals for offshore windfarm transportation, installation, and operations projects.

Simon Healy, Regional Managing Director of ABL Asia Pacific, praised the appointment: “Li Xiang has been instrumental in expanding our market-leading rig operations and geotechnical services in Asia Pacific. His technical excellence and client-first mindset make him the ideal leader to grow our footprint in the region’s dynamic energy markets.”

As Regional Director, Li Xiang will play a central role in driving ABL’s strategy for the offshore energy sector, ensuring that services such as rig inspections, site-specific assessments, and geotechnical engineering continue to meet the highest standards. Under his leadership, ABL will also reinforce its focus on safety, quality, and sustainability, building on its recognition at this year’s IADC Southeast Asia Chapter Awards for sustainability excellence.

Looking ahead, Li Xiang stated: “I’m excited to lead ABL’s next chapter in Asia-Pacific. With over 1,500 rig moves annually across the globe, we’re ready to support the region’s evolving offshore energy landscape with quality, safety, and innovation at the core.”
