ABL Australia will review design documents, certify vessel and DP systems, and oversee trenching, cable‑lay, burial, and landfall operations to ensure compliance and safety. (PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 16-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — ABL, the international energy and marine consultancy, has been appointed Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) for the submarine installation phase of Australia’s Marinus Link interconnector. This pivotal engagement underscores ABL’s role in advancing Australia’s energy transition by ensuring the safe delivery of critical marine infrastructure.

Under the agreement, ABL’s Australian operations—headquartered in Perth with additional offices in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne—will oversee all aspects of the marine Transportation & Installation (T&I) campaign for the 255 km undersea segment of the 345 km link between Tasmania and Victoria. Recognised by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) as essential to integrating renewables and balancing supply, Marinus Link will enable transmission capacity equivalent to the needs of 1.5 million homes.

• Conduct technical reviews of design documents, drawings, and engineering calculations 
• Perform vessel suitability and dynamic positioning (DP) assurance surveys for the specialised installation fleet 
• Attend trenching, cable‑lay, cable‑burial, landfall, and pull‑in operations to witness and approve compliance with warranty requirements
