(IN BRIEF) ABL has secured a new contract to provide fleet-wide dynamic positioning and critical systems consultancy services for an undisclosed vessel owner, with work being delivered through its Egypt operations. The scope includes DP consultancy, FMEA studies, proving trials, and operational documentation across a mixed fleet of offshore vessels. The award reflects growing industry demand for advanced assurance services as automation, hybrid propulsion, and energy efficiency become increasingly important. ABL Egypt continues to play a leading role in the regional market, supported by its integration with ABL’s global expertise, which spans hundreds of DP projects annually. The company will also showcase its services at EGYPES 2026, highlighting its capabilities in supporting safe and efficient offshore operations.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 20-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — ABL has been awarded a new contract by an undisclosed vessel owner to deliver dynamic positioning (DP) and critical systems consultancy services across an entire fleet, reinforcing its role in supporting safe and efficient offshore operations.

The project will be carried out by ABL’s Egypt operations and covers a diverse fleet that includes DP2 anchor handling tug vessels, hybrid-propulsion ships, and other offshore assets. The engagement reflects continued demand for specialised expertise in managing increasingly complex vessel systems.

As part of the contract, ABL will provide a full suite of services including DP consultancy, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), DP proving trials, and the development of operational documentation. These activities are designed to ensure regulatory compliance while enhancing long-term operational reliability and performance across the fleet.

The award builds on ABL Egypt’s strong track record in delivering similar services, having completed a significant number of FMEA studies, DP operational manuals, gap analyses, and capability assessments for major vessel operators in the region. The demand for such services is continuing to rise, driven by advances in vessel automation, the growing adoption of hybrid propulsion technologies, and an increased industry focus on energy efficiency and operational assurance.

ABL Egypt has established a leading position in marine assurance and risk services within the local market, particularly in DP consultancy and critical systems assurance, where it holds a dominant market share. The team combines in-country technical expertise with access to ABL’s global network, enabling the delivery of integrated marine, engineering, and survey solutions.

On a global scale, ABL is involved in approximately 390 DP-related projects each year, providing independent assurance services across vessel operations, newbuild programmes, retrofit projects, and fleet optimisation initiatives. This combination of international experience and local presence allows ABL to deliver practical, responsive solutions tailored to client needs.

Looking ahead, ABL will present its capabilities in marine assurance, DP consultancy, and critical systems services at EGYPES 2026. The Egypt-based team will be available at the event to engage with industry stakeholders, discuss evolving fleet challenges, and explore strategies to support long-term asset performance and reliability.
