(IN BRIEF) Neste and World Fuel Services have expanded their partnership through a new five-year agreement to increase the availability of sustainable aviation fuel at more than 100 airports across the UK and Europe. The collaboration leverages World Fuel’s distribution network and Neste’s growing SAF production capacity, including output from its Rotterdam refinery, to provide airlines and aviation operators with reliable access to lower-emission fuel as regulatory mandates take effect. With Neste planning to scale global SAF production to 2.2 million tons annually by 2027, the agreement is positioned to support aviation’s transition to reduced greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining compatibility with existing aircraft and infrastructure.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 17-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Neste and World Fuel Services have signed a five-year extension of their partnership to broaden the availability of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) across more than 100 airports within World Fuel’s network in the United Kingdom and Europe. The agreement strengthens the companies’ collaboration as demand for lower-emission aviation solutions accelerates alongside tightening regulatory requirements.

The renewed arrangement will support World Fuel’s ability to secure dependable SAF supply while helping customers comply with evolving frameworks such as the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation and the UK SAF mandate. Through World Fuel’s distribution infrastructure, SAF will be accessible to commercial airlines as well as business and general aviation operators, ensuring consistent access across a wide geographic footprint.

The partnership combines World Fuel’s established aviation fuel logistics, supply and airport infrastructure with Neste’s SAF production expertise. A key component of supply comes from Neste’s renewable fuels refinery in Rotterdam, which currently has the capacity to produce up to 500,000 tons of SAF annually.

As Neste continues expanding its global SAF production capacity — projected to grow from 1.5 million tons per year today to 2.2 million tons by 2027 — the collaboration is expected to enhance supply flexibility and scalability across Europe, supporting airlines’ transition to lower-carbon operations.

Sustainable aviation fuel offers a renewable alternative to conventional fossil-based jet fuel and can significantly reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions. Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel is produced from 100% renewable waste and residue raw materials, including used cooking oil and animal fat waste. The fuel is certified for commercial aviation use and can be blended with conventional jet fuel at approved ratios while remaining fully compatible with existing aircraft engines and fueling infrastructure.

By extending their agreement, Neste and World Fuel aim to help accelerate aviation’s decarbonisation pathway by improving access to SAF across major regional hubs and strengthening the supply chain needed to meet regulatory and sustainability targets.
