(PRESS RELEASE) SAVANNAH, Georgia, 5-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Maersk has expanded its U.S. logistics footprint with the launch of a new 20,000 sq. ft. Ground Freight Station in Savannah, Georgia, strengthening the company’s ground transportation network and improving speed and reliability for shippers across the Southeast. The site features three docks and a dedicated fleet, allowing for more efficient pickup and delivery services, enhanced local control, and better integration with Maersk’s existing U.S. logistics infrastructure.

Strategically positioned near the Port of Savannah, one of the fastest-growing container gateways in North America, the new station offers direct connectivity to I-95 and I-16, serving major regional destinations including Atlanta, Jacksonville, Charleston, and Charlotte. The opening complements Maersk’s contract logistics locations in Savannah and follows recent Ground Freight facility launches in Lake City, Georgia, and Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, creating a more cohesive regional ecosystem for end-to-end supply chain solutions.

“This opening reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more connected logistics network across the U.S.,” said Bob Livingston, Head of Maersk Ground Freight Operations, North America. “Savannah plays a crucial role in helping us deliver integrated services that simplify supply chains for customers.”

Maersk now operates more than 65 Ground Freight facilities across North America, supporting its strategy to streamline freight flows, strengthen last-mile capability, and provide full visibility from origin to destination. By acting as a single logistics partner, the company aims to reduce operational complexity and offer customers smoother coordination through one integrated service provider.
