Fapajal Selects ANDRITZ to Supply Complete PrimeLine Tissue Production Line for Major Capacity Expansion

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ has been awarded a contract by Fapajal Papermaking S.A. to deliver a complete PrimeLine™ tissue production line for the company’s São Julião do Tojal mill, with commissioning planned for the first half of 2027. The new line will produce 30,000 tons of high-quality toilet and kitchen tissue annually and includes stock preparation, a high-speed PrimeLine™ machine, a PrimePress shoe press, a steel Yankee dryer, and full automation and engineering services. Fapajal views the project as a key step in strengthening its international position, while ANDRITZ emphasised the shared focus on performance, reliability and sustainability. The order adds to ANDRITZ’s growing presence in the European tissue sector, especially following its acquisition of A.Celli Paper. (PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 21-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ has been selected by Portuguese tissue producer Fapajal Papermaking S.A. to supply a complete PrimeLine™ tissue production line for the company’s mill in São Julião do Tojal, with start-up planned for the first half of 2027. The order value remains confidential and has been recorded in ANDRITZ’s third-quarter 2025 order intake.

The new production line—designed to manufacture high-quality toilet and kitchen tissue—will deliver an annual capacity of 30,000 tons, supporting Fapajal’s strategic expansion in both domestic and international tissue markets. The investment marks an important step in the company’s long-term growth ambitions as a specialised, niche producer.

The scope of supply includes a full stock preparation system, a PrimeLine™ tissue machine capable of operating at 1,800 m/min with a 2.75-metre width, and a PrimePress shoe press designed to deliver improved softness and bulk. The line also features a steel Yankee dryer, advanced automation and electrification systems, and comprehensive basic and detailed engineering for installation and commissioning.
