TNN selects Nokia for four-year 5G network renewal, driving AI automation and energy-efficient connectivity in Denmark

(IN BRIEF) Nokia has renewed its partnership with TNN in Denmark under a four-year extension, remaining the sole supplier of 5G RAN and managed services. The deal focuses on deploying Nokia’s AirScale and MantaRay solutions with AI and automation for enhanced speed, capacity, and sustainability. Covering over three million customers, the modernization supports autonomous 5G operations, advanced digital services, and improved network resilience. The collaboration strengthens Denmark’s position as a leader in next-generation connectivity through innovation, efficiency, and energy-conscious design.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 10-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Nokia has secured a four-year contract extension with TNN, Denmark’s largest shared mobile network jointly owned by Norlys and Telenor, to remain the exclusive supplier of 5G radio access networks and managed services across the country. The renewed agreement will modernize TNN’s nationwide 5G infrastructure using Nokia’s next-generation AirScale Radio Access Network (RAN) portfolio and MantaRay solutions, incorporating AI and automation to boost network performance, reliability, and efficiency. This upgrade aims to enhance service quality, network capacity, and user experience for more than three million subscribers while preparing the network for future autonomous operations and AI-driven optimization.

The deployment includes Nokia’s advanced Habrok Massive MIMO radios, Pandion multi-band remote radio heads, and AirScale baseband units—Ponente, Lodos, and Levante—powered by energy-efficient ReefShark SoC technology. These systems will deliver improved scalability and sustainability while supporting growing data traffic demands. TNN will also benefit from Nokia’s AI-driven MantaRay SON and AutoPilot platforms, which autonomously optimize and manage the network in real time, reducing operational complexity and costs.

Daniel Askeroth, SVP Telco at Norlys, emphasized the strategic importance of continuing to invest in “best-in-class mobile infrastructure” to deliver superior connectivity and customer experience across Denmark. Louise Haurum, CTO of Telenor Denmark, added that the collaboration “empowers us to accelerate innovation and bring transformative digital experiences to homes and businesses.” Mark Atkinson, Head of Radio Access Network at Nokia, underscored the significance of this deal as a testament to Nokia’s role as a “trusted technology provider” driving the next phase of Denmark’s 5G evolution through automation and AI.
