AF Gruppen’s HMB Construction Wins SEK 112 Million Contract from Swedish Fortifications Agency for Ärna F16 Project

The project involves building two shelters, a heated and cold storage facility, and a transformer station within a classified zone requiring detailed technical and logistical planning. Due to challenging soil and proximity to the river, the project will use concrete piles for foundation stability. Design work begins in autumn 2025, with construction to start later that year and completion set for December 2026.

(PRESS RELEASE) OSLO, 6-Oct-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — AF Gruppen’s subsidiary, HMB Construction, has been awarded a significant construction contract by the Swedish Fortifications Agency for work at Ärna F16 in Uppsala. Valued at approximately SEK 112 million excluding VAT, the project encompasses the development of multiple facilities within a classified area, requiring exceptional technical precision, meticulous planning, and adherence to stringent documentation standards.

The scope of the project includes building two protective shelters, a heated storage facility, a smaller cold storage unit, and a new transformer station. Delivered as a turnkey contract, the work involves challenging site conditions such as clay-based soil and the site’s proximity to a river, necessitating foundation reinforcement through concrete piling.
