Aeroflot successfully passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit and proved compliance with IOSA Standards for 5th time

Moscow, 27-6-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Aeroflot has successfully passed the fifth regular IOSA procedure (IATA Operational Safety Audit). The IOSA certificate and the status of IOSA-registered operator have been prolonged till October 14, 2015.

The audit was conducted in all the activity areas: Organization and Management Systems, Safety Flight Operations, Flight Planning and Management, Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance, Passengers Salon Safety, Aircraft Ground Handling, Cargo Transportation, Operational Security and Safety.

Aeroflot was the first Russian airline to be included in IATA’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Registry in 2005. Now the national carrier’s experience is being widely used by other Russian airlines interested in enhancing their operational standards by implementing the best practices developed by IATA.

The compliance with IOSA standards is the obligatory condition for membership both in IATA and global SkyTeam alliance. Also it is mandatory for code share agreements between airlines.

Once again Aeroflot has confirmed its positions of safe and reliable air carrier complying with the highest international standards. Aeroflot was the first Russian air carrier to pass the audit without any non-conformances with IOSA standards, which was the unique case not only among the Russian carriers but among global airlines as well.

The highest safety and reliability, regularly confirmed at the international level, are doubtless competitive advantages of the leading national air carrier. According to the recent survey made by Scyscanner, Aeroflot is heading the list of Top 5 Best Russian airlines. 56% out of more than 1000 Russian Internet users named Aeroflot as the best company to fly with.

Following the Strategy of Aeroflot Group of Companies aimed at joining the list of the largest global air carriers, currently almost all companies of Aeroflot Group have the IOSA Certificate. SAT airline is in the process of obtaining the Certificate.

Celebrating its 90-th anniversary in 2013, Aeroflot is Russia’s flagship airline and the largest national air company. Proudly being a member of SkyTeam global airline alliance, Aeroflot with its partnering members provides service to 1000 destinations in 187 countries. Aeroflot operates one of the most modern and youngest fleets in Europe counting 137 aircraft formed by Airbus, Boeing and Sukhoi airliners with an average airplane age of 5 years. In 2012 Aeroflot carried 17,7 million passengers, continuously showing the best results in modern Russia’s history. In the same year Aeroflot received Readers’ Choice Condé Nast Traveller Award as the best Russian airline. Find more at www.aeroflot.ru.
