Dr. Speckmann, an experienced communications expert with a background in both politics and business, has previously worked with the Federal Ministry of Finance and held key roles in corporate communications for major companies like Brunswick Group and Westenergie. In his new position, he will report to CGM’s CEO, Prof. Dr. Daniel Gotthardt, and will play a key role in advancing CGM’s corporate communications strategy both internally and externally.

KGaA (CGM), a global leader in e-health solutions, has announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Speckmann as its new Global Head of Communications, effective November 1, 2024. Dr. Speckmann brings a wealth of experience in both the political and business arenas, having held key roles in government and corporate communications. His diverse background includes strategic communications for the Federal Ministry of Finance under Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble, as well as advising top executives in major DAX 30 companies.

In his new role, Dr. Speckmann will report directly to CGM’s CEO, Prof. Dr. Daniel Gotthardt, who emphasized that Dr. Speckmann’s deep understanding of both politics and business will help advance CGM’s corporate communications strategy. “Thomas Speckmann’s expertise at the intersection of business and politics makes him uniquely positioned to strengthen our corporate messaging and ensure CGM’s successful positioning both internally and externally,” Gotthardt stated.

Dr. Speckmann has a distinguished career, having served as a Director at the Brunswick Group and as Head of Corporate Communications at Westenergie Group, where he led a team of 85 employees across various communication disciplines. His extensive experience in financial and leadership communication, particularly in the healthcare and energy sectors, positions him as a valuable asset to CGM as it continues to expand its global reach.
