Syngenta Crop Protection acquires Macspred Australia to strengthen weed management capabilities in forestry and industrial sectors

(IN BRIEF) Syngenta Crop Protection has acquired Macspred Australia, a company specializing in weed management for the forestry, roads, rail, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. The acquisition marks Syngenta’s entry into the forestry products and vegetation markets through its Professional Solutions business, enabling it to service both large-scale commercial plantation customers and a growing farm forestry clientele focused on improving financial sustainability and environmental biodiversity on the farm. Macspred has over 30 years of experience in vegetation management and has developed products specifically for forestry and industrial sectors. The acquisition includes all products, manufacturing and distributorship sites, toll formulation, warehousing, and intellectual property. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition marks Syngenta’s entry – through its Professional Solutions business – into the forestry products and vegetation markets. It also secures Syngenta’s ability to service both large-scale commercial plantation customers, as well as a growing farm forestry clientele focused on improving financial sustainability and environmental biodiversity on the farm.

Macspred has specialized in vegetation management in the forestry and industrial sectors for more than 30 years, researching and developing products specifically for these situations.
