Wood Appoints Paul O’Donnell to Its Board as Non-Executive Director to Strengthen Strategic Leadership

(IN BRIEF) John Wood Group PLC has appointed Paul O’Donnell as a Non-Executive Director, effective 28 July 2025. A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Paul brings over 25 years of experience in M&A, business transformation, and board governance, having served in senior roles at Blackstone Advisory Partners and as a director at several major firms including Nordic Aviation Capital and TalkTalk. His appointment follows the decision by three current directors not to seek re-election, as Wood continues to review its board composition. Chair Roy Franklin welcomed Paul as a valuable addition to the team. Paul currently holds no shares in the company, and no further disclosures are required under UK Listing Rule 6.4.8.

(PRESS RELEASE) ABERDEEN, 28-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — John Wood Group PLC (“Wood”) has announced the appointment of Paul O’Donnell as a Non-Executive Director, effective 28 July 2025. Paul brings with him more than 25 years of expertise in mergers and acquisitions, business transformation, and board-level leadership across a range of industries.

A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Paul has held board positions at several prominent companies including Nordic Aviation Capital, EnerMech, The Very Group, and TalkTalk. His background includes extensive advisory work for public and private enterprises, as well as financial investors. He also previously served as Managing Director at Blackstone Advisory Partners.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Master of Accounting degree from University College Dublin.

His appointment comes in the context of recent board changes, following the decision of three directors not to stand for election or re-election at Wood’s 2025 Annual General Meeting. The Board continues to evaluate its composition and skill set to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic needs and future direction.
