(PRESS RELEASE) ABERDEEN, 16-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — John Wood Group PLC (“Wood”) and its joint venture partner, Tendrill International Sdn. Bhd., have clinched a five-year brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services agreement with Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. (BSP). Through the TendrillWood JV, the companies will manage every stage of brownfield projects—from front-end conceptual planning right through to commissioning and start-up—across both offshore platforms and onshore installations.

As the foremost oil and gas producer in Brunei Darussalam, BSP is integral to the nation’s daily hydrocarbon output. Under this new contract, TendrillWood’s roughly 1,000-strong workforce—70% of whom are Bruneian nationals—will deepen its focus on local talent and the domestic supply chain, reinforcing national capacity-building initiatives.

Ken Gilmartin, Wood’s Chief Executive Officer, remarked:

“This award is testament to our steadfast partnership with BSP and our commitment to Brunei’s energy security. For more than ten years, Wood has delivered safe, dependable, and cost-effective engineering and operational solutions. Our in-depth familiarity with BSP’s assets will allow us to drive improved performance, nurture regional skills, and expand supply-chain opportunities.”

Haryati Ramlee, Managing Director of Tendrill, added:

“Winning this contract marks a pivotal achievement for Tendrill and the TendrillWood venture. By combining Wood’s global EPC expertise with our local insights, we will deliver best-in-class, safety-driven outcomes for BSP. This collaboration aligns seamlessly with Brunei’s national strategy to prioritise local content, develop capacity, and generate enduring economic value.”
