VINCI Construction to Acquire Fletcher Construction to Expand New Zealand Infrastructure Presence

(IN BRIEF) VINCI Construction has agreed to acquire Fletcher Construction, a New Zealand infrastructure specialist employing 2,300 people and generating around €630 million in annual revenue. Subject to regulatory approval and expected to close in 2026, the acquisition strengthens VINCI Construction’s position in New Zealand’s civil engineering and infrastructure market and complements its existing operations in the country. The move supports VINCI’s strategy of expanding in high-growth infrastructure markets while leveraging strong local expertise.

(PRESS RELEASE) NANTERRE, 20-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — VINCI Construction has signed an agreement to acquire Fletcher Construction, a subsidiary of New Zealand-based Fletcher Building Group, in a move that significantly strengthens its footprint in the country’s fast-growing civil engineering and infrastructure market. The transaction, which is subject to approval by the relevant authorities, is expected to be completed in 2026.

Founded in 1909, Fletcher Construction employs approximately 2,300 people in New Zealand and generates annual revenue of around €630 million (NZ$1.3 billion). The company has a long-established presence across major infrastructure segments, including hydraulic works, maritime and port infrastructure, airports, railways, and road construction. In parallel, Fletcher Construction has been expanding its activities in renewable energy projects, reflecting broader market demand for sustainable infrastructure solutions.

The acquisition will complement VINCI Construction’s existing operations in New Zealand, notably alongside HEB Construction, positioning the Group as a major participant in one of the country’s most dynamic infrastructure markets. By combining local expertise with VINCI Construction’s global capabilities, the transaction is expected to enhance the Group’s ability to deliver large-scale, complex infrastructure projects across the region.

VINCI Group already maintains a strong presence in New Zealand, having generated revenue exceeding €900 million in the country in 2024. The planned acquisition of Fletcher Construction reinforces VINCI Construction’s long-term commitment to the New Zealand market and supports its strategy of expanding in regions with sustained infrastructure investment and growth potential.
