The Advanced Management Programme created by INSEAD and Fundação Dom Cabral celebrates its 30th anniversary

(PRESS RELEASE) MIDDLE EAST, ASIA, EUROPE, 16-Oct-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — The Advanced Management Programme (PGA), a unique business education model established in 1989 by two of the world’s top business schools INSEAD and Fundação Dom Cabral, is turning 30 this year. Over the past few decades more than 1000 business leaders have participated in the management programme. Jointly developed by INSEAD and Fundação Dom Cabral the PGA prepares leaders of national and multinational organisations in the private and public sectors to address the challenges of the business world – both current and future. The programme is having an intense schedule distributed in three and a half weeks and takes place at both the Fundação Dom Cabral campuses in Nova Lima and São Paulo, and on the INSEAD campus in Fontainebleau, France. Participants have the rare opportunity to interact with executives, professors and specialists from different sectors and regions in addition to the in-depth content.

Particularly in Brazil, the PGA programme has not only developed business leaders, but it has also transformed the business environment and influenced the country’s business development.

Commenting on the anniversary, Felipe Monteiro, INSEAD Senior Affiliate Professor of Strategy and the Academic Director of the programme, said:

“The partnership between INSEAD and Fundação Dom Cabral guarantees the offering of a curriculum connected with the state-of-the-art executive education in the world. It inspires the business leaders in Brazil to take on the global challenges and harness business as a force for good. This underpins both schools’ commitment to develop responsible leaders who transform the business and society”.

Professor Carlos Arruda, Director of the Programme at Fundação Dom Cabra, on defining the leadership:

“In a scenario of constant transformation, what defines a leader is not only management skills, but its ability to build one’s own future. Considering this, it is essential to develop a broader vision with a deep understanding of oneself, the organisation and society.”

This unique approach promotes a review of business conceptions, organisational and individual practices, and a broad view of the world.

Furthermore, the programme’s methodology has also advanced to the development of business prototyping based on analysis of strategic practices, evaluation and coaching. The future of capitalism; technological, geopolitical and demographic macro trends; coaching for personal growth; disruptive innovations; development of emotional capital for strategy execution and responsible leadership are among the topics covered by the PGA.

One of the main focuses of the PGA is to guide teams and direct organisations to anticipate changes in the business world. The complexities of the business world, especially those related to changes in digital technologies, economy and market behavior are among the things addressed by the PGA programme. The participants in the programme have the opportunity to develop insights that will drive performance and sustainability in their organisations in addition to rethinking their current management practices. The PGA is particularly targeting C-Level corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and leaders responsible for the organisations’ strategy.

INSEAD is one of the world’s leading and largest graduate business schools with campuses in Europe (France), Asia (Singapore) and the Middle East (Abu Dhabi).
