Siemens Groups Launch €200K Relief Effort with Matched Employee Donations for Earthquake Victims

(IN BRIEF) Siemens AG and Siemens Healthineers AG have each donated €100,000 for immediate earthquake relief in Myanmar and Thailand, and have initiated an internal donation drive where every euro contributed by employees will be matched. This aid, distributed through the non-profit Siemens Caring Hands e.V., will support selected relief organizations in providing essential services such as shelter, food, water, and medical care. The initiative reflects Siemens’ long-standing commitment to social engagement and rapid disaster response.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 2-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens AG and Siemens Healthineers AG have stepped forward with immediate humanitarian assistance, each contributing €100,000 to support earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar and Thailand. This funding is aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected by the disasters and bolstering rescue operations. In addition, both companies have launched an internal call for donations, pledging to match every euro donated by their employees.

“Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted. We want to help, and in partnership with Siemens Healthineers, we are offering €200,000 as immediate support. This is just the first step, as our non-profit, Siemens Caring Hands e.V., is currently evaluating further aid opportunities,” said Peter Koerte, member of the Managing Board, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer at Siemens AG.

Through its non-profit organization Siemens Caring Hands e.V., the donated funds will be directed to selected relief organizations. These organizations will utilize the contributions to offer a range of local aid measures, including the provision of tents, shelter, technical support, food, drinking water, and basic medical care.
