(IN BRIEF) Stadler Polska has celebrated the production of its 1,000th vehicle at the Siedlce plant during the TRAKO trade fair, marking the occasion with the delivery of a new five-car FLIRT electric train to Koleje Mazowieckie. The factory, established in 2006, has since become a major hub for both domestic and export production, supplying trains to 18 European countries and employing 1,500 people. Poland remains Stadler’s largest market, with Koleje Mazowieckie as a key partner. Following recent contracts, the operator’s fleet will grow to 135 FLIRT units, strengthening regional transport while highlighting the industrial role of Siedlce in European rail production.

(PRESS RELEASE) GDANSK, 24-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Stadler Polska has reached a landmark achievement with the completion of its 1,000th rail vehicle at the Siedlce factory. The milestone was celebrated during the TRAKO trade fair, where the jubilee unit—a five-car next-generation FLIRT electric train—was officially presented. The train, which will join the fleet of Koleje Mazowieckie, is the first delivery from the operator’s 2024 orders. In total, Stadler Polska will supply up to 75 new FLIRT trains for service in the Mazovia region.

The 1,000th vehicle also serves as a symbolic conclusion to 18 years of activity at the Siedlce plant, which began operations in 2006. Fittingly, both the very first train produced in Poland and the 1,000th carry the colors of Koleje Mazowieckie. “Producing our 1,000th vehicle in Siedlce is a milestone we are extremely proud of. This success is built on innovation, quality, and the strong trust we have earned from customers across Europe,” said Radosław Banach, CEO of Stadler Polska.

From Poland to Europe
The history of Stadler Polska began with a contract for 14 FLIRT trains in 2006, 10 of which went to Koleje Mazowieckie. This marked the start of a long-term relationship and led to the establishment of the Siedlce plant. Since then, the factory has produced 237 trains for the Polish market and hundreds more for export. Today, vehicles from Siedlce are operating in 18 European countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, Austria, and Spain.

Continuous investment has been central to the plant’s success, from expanded production halls and advanced technologies to building a robust network of local suppliers. Stadler Polska now employs 1,500 people, whose expertise and commitment have been key to delivering trains of the highest standard. “This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our employees, partners, and customers. I especially want to thank Koleje Mazowieckie, our first Polish customer and the operator of the 1,000th vehicle,” added Banach.

Mazovia as a stronghold for Stadler
Poland remains Stadler Polska’s most important market, with 237 vehicles operating for PKP Intercity, Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna, Koleje Śląskie, MPK Kraków, and Koleje Mazowieckie. The long-standing partnership with Koleje Mazowieckie has grown steadily, with 61 FLIRT trains delivered between 2020 and 2023. New contracts signed in 2024 and 2025 will add up to 75 more vehicles, bringing the operator’s total Stadler fleet to 135 units, with another 11 under consideration.

Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazovia Voivodeship, emphasized the importance of the collaboration: “The 1,000th vehicle produced at Stadler’s Siedlce plant in Koleje Mazowieckie livery perfectly sums up our fruitful cooperation. Our fleet of Stadler vehicles will soon increase significantly, strengthening public transport across Mazovia.”

Robert Stępień, CEO of Koleje Mazowieckie, added: “We are proud that the 1,000th train will serve passengers in our region. Stadler trains already account for more than one-fifth of our fleet, and with the upcoming deliveries, that share will grow. It is equally important that these vehicles are produced locally, supporting the economic development of Mazovia.”
