(PRESS RELEASE) SÖDERTÄLJE, 20-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — On September 19, 2024, Scania introduced ProDriver, a new fully digital coaching service aimed at improving the skills of professional drivers, particularly those in long-haul and regional operations. The service focuses on fuel-efficient and sustainable driving practices, offering potential fuel savings of up to 5%. What sets ProDriver apart is its gamified learning approach, providing a fun and interactive experience rather than traditional training methods.

According to Andrea Wetterberg, Head of Services Portfolio at Scania, the service empowers drivers with easy-to-access, 24/7 learning tools, helping them improve fuel efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals. Drivers can access ProDriver through the Scania Driver app and My Scania platform, where they receive personalized feedback based on real-time driving data and specific behaviors like idling, coasting, and anticipation.

ProDriver builds on Scania’s existing Driver Evaluation service but takes driver development to new heights. With interactive content such as videos, audio lessons, and tasks, drivers are motivated to apply what they’ve learned, earning rewards for their progress. Fleet managers can also monitor driver engagement and support their learning journey. This innovative approach streamlines driver development while achieving significant fuel and emissions savings.

By 2025, all new Scania trucks with combustion engines will come with ProDriver included, and it will be available for existing fleets as well. Wetterberg emphasized that while ProDriver doesn’t replace traditional driver training, it expands opportunities for ongoing driver improvement, making it a first-of-its-kind digital service in the transport industry.
