(IN BRIEF) Saab has secured a SEK 340 million order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to supply the Sea Giraffe 1X naval radar system to the Swedish Navy. The radars, to be delivered between 2024 and 2026, will be deployed in various configurations for training and installation on surface ships. Known for its advanced capabilities, the Sea Giraffe 1X can simultaneously detect, track, and classify air and surface threats, including drones, and features a software-defined design for adaptability to emerging challenges.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 14-Dec-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has placed an order with Saab for its advanced Sea Giraffe 1X naval radar systems, valued at approximately SEK 340 million. Deliveries are scheduled between 2024 and 2026, reinforcing Saab’s commitment to providing cutting-edge defense solutions for Sweden’s maritime forces.

This order encompasses multiple configurations of the Sea Giraffe 1X radar, designed for both training and operational deployment on surface ships.
