(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 20-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Saab, Thales, and ST Engineering have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the innovation and modernization of Singapore’s Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. The agreement, finalized on November 20 at the Sweden–Singapore Royal Business Forum, seeks to establish a collaborative industrial framework that integrates global technologies with local expertise to enhance Singapore’s ATM capabilities.

“This initiative highlights our collective commitment to Singapore and our proactive approach to minimizing implementation risks as we introduce next-generation ATM technologies,” said Per Ahl, Head of Saab Digital Air Traffic Solutions.

The partnership will leverage Saab’s Digital Tower Suite (i-DTS), a state-of-the-art solution combining Advanced Surface Movement Guidance & Control Systems with Digital Tower capabilities. This technology enhances situational awareness for air traffic controllers, providing seamless management of aircraft movements in all weather conditions and improving airport efficiency.

Thales brings its extensive expertise in advanced ATM systems, while ST Engineering contributes localized knowledge through its Mission Software and Services division. Together, the collaboration covers all phases of air traffic management, from en route operations to gate management, setting a new benchmark for ATM modernization.

This partnership aims not only to strengthen Singapore’s ATM infrastructure but also to create a scalable model that can be replicated in other regions globally. The integration of cutting-edge technologies and local insights underscores a shared vision of delivering safer, more efficient, and future-ready air traffic solutions.
