Prosus Deepens Collaboration with AWS to Drive AI Innovation Across Its Global Portfolio

(IN BRIEF) Prosus has signed a three-year Global Partnership Agreement with Amazon Web Services to accelerate AI adoption across its portfolio companies in Latin America, Europe, and India, enabling businesses such as iFood, OLX, PayU, Despegar, eMag, and Just Eat Takeaway.com to co-develop and scale AI solutions using AWS’s cloud and machine learning capabilities. The collaboration builds on the success of iFood’s Large Commerce Model, an agentic AI system that powers hyper-personalised search and recommendations for a platform handling 180 million orders per month. The agreement focuses on five strategic pillars including generative AI innovation, system reliability, cybersecurity, cloud cost optimisation, and standardised technology templates, while AWS will provide engineering resources to support portfolio-wide deployment. Prosus is further strengthening its AI-first strategy through its Toqan platform with over 30,000 AI agents, vast data assets, and investments in more than 30 AI-native ecommerce startups.

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 5-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Prosus, a global consumer internet group and technology investor, has entered into a three-year strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence adoption across its portfolio companies in Latin America, Europe, and India. The agreement establishes a framework for deeper technical collaboration, enabling Prosus and its subsidiaries to build, scale, and deploy advanced AI solutions using AWS’s cloud infrastructure and machine learning capabilities.

Under the Global Partnership Agreement, selected Prosus portfolio companies — including iFood, OLX, PayU, Despegar, eMag, and Just Eat Takeaway.com — will gain expanded access to AWS’s cloud services, data infrastructure, and generative AI tools. The collaboration is designed to support the development of more personalised digital experiences, operational efficiencies, and AI-driven product innovation across multiple consumer-facing platforms.

A central pillar of this initiative is Prosus’s broader effort to standardise AI innovation throughout its ecosystem. This builds on the success of iFood’s Large Commerce Model (LCM), an agentic AI system that powers intelligent search and recommendation features for Brazil’s leading food delivery platform, which processes approximately 180 million orders per month. The LCM leverages long-term memory, contextual understanding, and continuous learning from user behaviour to refine recommendations and improve customer interactions over time.

Igor Cardoso, Head of Prosus Ecosystem, said that the expanded collaboration with AWS goes beyond commercial arrangements by incorporating joint engineering efforts and portfolio-wide support. He highlighted that AWS will commit technical resources to co-develop AI products with Prosus, enabling faster deployment of scalable AI use cases across its businesses. Cardoso also pointed to the decade-long relationship between the two companies, which he said provides a strong foundation for accelerating AI-driven growth and enhancing digital experiences for Prosus’s global user base.

The partnership is structured around five key strategic priorities intended to enhance operational performance across Prosus’s portfolio. These include the use of cutting-edge generative AI for product development and co-innovation, the adoption of standardised engineering best practices to improve system reliability, the implementation of enterprise-grade security frameworks, the optimisation of cloud expenditure through FinOps methodologies, and the creation of unified technology templates that can be rapidly deployed across different businesses.

Greg Pearson, Vice President of AWS Global Sales, emphasised that Prosus exemplifies how commerce companies are using AI to transform customer engagement. He noted that by combining AWS’s AI and machine learning capabilities with Prosus’s operational scale and market expertise, the partnership will reshape how consumers discover and interact with products across digital platforms.

Prosus is also investing heavily in its own AI infrastructure and capabilities. The company serves more than 500 million customers through its wholly owned businesses, processes over 10 trillion data tokens, and handles more than 500 million daily customer interactions, providing a substantial foundation for AI-driven innovation. Through Toqan, its proprietary agent development platform, Prosus has built one of the world’s largest agentic workforces, comprising more than 30,000 AI agents that automate workflows and enhance operational efficiency. In parallel, Prosus has invested in over 30 AI-native ecommerce startups, reinforcing its commitment to developing next-generation AI applications across key markets.
