PropTech Leader PropertyMe Gains EQT Investment to Drive AI, Automation and ANZ Market Expansion

(IN BRIEF) PropertyMe, the largest cloud-based property management software provider across Australia and New Zealand, has secured a majority investment from EQT via its Mid-Market Growth Partnership fund. The deal will support innovation, AI adoption, and expansion plans while agency customers already manage 1.9 million rental properties and transact nearly $40 billion annually through the platform including $2.4 billion via MePay. PropertyMe’s founders will transition into board positions as Brian Donn becomes CEO in January 2026, bringing deep SaaS leadership experience. EQT will help accelerate development of automation features, payments integration, analytics and new growth markets. The investment is EQT’s third software platform deal in Australia, strengthening its portfolio of vertical-market technology companies.

(PRESS RELEASE) SYDNEY, 4-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — PropertyMe, a leading cloud-native PropTech platform used by more than 6,000 real estate agencies managing around 1.9 million rental properties across Australia and New Zealand, is set to accelerate its next phase of growth following an investment agreement with EQT, via the BPEA Mid-Market Growth Partnership (MMG) fund. The transaction positions EQT as the majority investor, partnering with PropertyMe’s founders, who will retain a significant minority stake and transition into non-executive Board roles in early 2026. PropertyMe processes nearly $40 billion in transactions annually, including $2.4 billion via its integrated MePay payments platform, reinforcing its category leadership as agencies migrate from legacy systems to modern cloud solutions.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Sydney, PropertyMe provides an all-in-one platform that spans trust accounting, compliance, maintenance workflow automation, payments, messaging and more, helping agencies streamline daily operations at scale. With rental housing demand rising and property management rapidly digitalising, the company has become the largest property management software provider in ANZ by number of properties managed. PropertyMe’s technology suite includes AiMe, an integrated AI assistant, MePay, and its newly released next-generation CRM — each contributing to improved efficiency, automation and customer experience within the real estate ecosystem.

EQT’s investment will support PropertyMe’s product roadmap and geographic expansion, leveraging EQT’s global expertise in software and AI, alongside its advisor network, to accelerate innovation in analytics, workflow automation, payments, and additional platform capabilities. Expansion into complementary market segments is also being explored as agencies increasingly seek unified cloud systems rather than fragmented legacy tools.

As part of the transition, Brian Donn has been appointed Chief Executive Officer effective January 2026, bringing over 25 years of global technology leadership experience across high-growth SaaS organisations in APAC and EMEA, most recently as SVP & Managing Director at Dayforce Asia Pacific and Japan. He succeeds the founding team, who shift into long-term governance roles while remaining major shareholders.

Nicholas Macksey, Partner at EQT Private Capital Asia and Head of the Mid-Market Growth strategy, said the firm sees PropertyMe as a standout leader in the PropTech sector:
“PropertyMe’s mission-critical platform is woven into the operations of thousands of real estate agencies, and we’re impressed by its technology depth and market adoption. With strong tailwinds in digital transformation and cloud migration, we believe there is tremendous opportunity to scale further, innovate faster, and enter new markets.”

Jacob Van der Wiel, Director at EQT Private Capital Asia, added that EQT looks forward to backing the team through its next growth stage:
“We’ve seen firsthand how deeply the founders value their customers and product. We’re thrilled to partner with them and the wider team to accelerate growth and strengthen PropertyMe’s leadership position in ANZ.”

Jason Tait, PropertyMe Founder, welcomed the partnership:
“Our goal has always been to modernise property management with best-in-class software. EQT’s investment is a catalyst for the next chapter — enabling faster product development, new market expansion, and continued innovation under Brian’s leadership. This is the right moment for the founders to move into board roles, while staying committed as long-term shareholders.”

Incoming CEO Brian Donn added:
“The platform has a strong foundation, loved by customers, and packed with opportunity. With EQT’s backing and a talented team, we are ready to enhance automation, elevate the customer experience, and shape the future of PropTech. I’m excited to build a workplace that attracts exceptional talent and to scale the company both locally and internationally.”

This investment becomes EQT Private Capital Asia’s third software platform deal in Australia, and its second Australian investment under the MMG fund, reinforcing EQT’s role as a leading technology investor in Asia Pacific. EQT’s experience in vertical-market software spans education, real estate, and enterprise-services platforms globally, including investments in Compass Education (Australia), HRBrain (Japan) and WSO2, among others. Advisory support for the transaction included Corrs and Deloitte advising EQT, while PropertyMe was advised by Pier Capital, Jones Day and Alvarez & Marsal.
