(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 19-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Ericsson and Mastercard have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at modernizing global money movement by combining Ericsson’s Mobile Financial Services platform with Mastercard Move, Mastercard’s suite of payment and transfer solutions.

The integration will enable telecom operators, banks, and fintech providers to more easily introduce and scale digital wallet services, payment capabilities, and cross-border transfer solutions. The joint approach is intended to streamline integration and operational processes while accelerating the rollout of new financial services. By simplifying deployment and regulatory alignment, the collaboration seeks to lower barriers for service providers and support innovation across both emerging and mature markets.

A central focus of the initiative is expanding access to financial services for unbanked and underbanked populations. The partnership aims to strengthen digital financial ecosystems by allowing service providers to introduce new revenue-generating offerings while broadening participation in the digital economy. Initial rollout efforts will focus on the Middle East and Africa, regions where demand for mobile money, remittance services, and interoperable payment systems continues to grow.
