Neste Confirms New Nomination Board Leadership with Maija Strandberg as Chair

(IN BRIEF) Neste Corporation has appointed Maija Strandberg (Prime Minister’s Office of Finland) as Chair of its Shareholders’ Nomination Board, alongside members Timo Sallinen (Varma) and Annika Ekman (Ilmarinen). Pasi Laine, Chair of Neste’s Board of Directors, will serve as an expert. These members represent the company’s three largest shareholders, as determined by the shareholder register on the first banking day of June. The Nomination Board will present its proposals on board composition, remuneration, and size to Neste’s Board of Directors by 31 January 2026, in preparation for the next Annual General Meeting.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 9-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ —  Neste Corporation has confirmed the appointment of new members to its Shareholders’ Nomination Board. The board will be chaired by Director General Maija Strandberg of the Ownership Steering Department in the Prime Minister’s Office of Finland. Joining her as members are Timo Sallinen, Senior Vice President of Investments at Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, and Annika Ekman, Head of Equities at Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company. Pasi Laine, Chair of Neste’s Board of Directors, will participate in the Nomination Board’s work as an expert.

In accordance with the Charter for the Shareholders’ Nomination Board, the appointed members represent Neste’s three largest shareholders, determined annually based on the shareholder register on the first banking day of June. The Charter outlines detailed procedures governing the selection process and the functioning of the Nomination Board.

The Shareholders’ Nomination Board plays a key role in Neste’s corporate governance by preparing and submitting proposals to the Annual General Meeting concerning the composition, remuneration, and number of Board members. The Nomination Board is expected to deliver its proposals to Neste’s Board of Directors by 31 January 2026.
