Marella Cruises Partners with Fincantieri for Landmark Newbuild Journey

(PRESS RELEASE) TRIESTE, 1-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Marella Cruises is set to embark on a groundbreaking newbuild journey by partnering with Fincantieri to construct its first-ever newly built cruise ships. On 31 March 2025, Fincantieri and TUI AG signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the design and construction of two state-of-the-art vessels under the Marella Cruises brand. This landmark agreement, valued at over €2 billion and subject to standard financing and other conditions, marks a significant milestone for Marella Cruises as it enters the newbuild segment for the first time, while also broadening Fincantieri’s client portfolio with an exciting new brand in the cruise sector.

The two ships will be specifically designed for the English market with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability. They are set to redefine the premium cruising experience through refined design, high-quality materials, and a range of spacious accommodations. Delivery of the vessels is scheduled for calendar years 2030 and 2032.
