MacGregor Secures Contract to Equip 12 Car and Truck Carriers for CIDO Shipping with Advanced Cargo Solutions
(IN BRIEF) MacGregor, a division of Cargotec, has secured a contract to supply cargo access equipment for 12 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) being built for CIDO Shipping at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. The deal includes an option for eight additional vessels. The equipment package consists of ramps, internal ramps, covers, and liftable car decks, with deliveries starting in Q2 2026 and completing by Q4 2029. This contract strengthens the existing partnerships between MacGregor, CIDO Shipping, and CMHI, emphasizing MacGregor’s reputation for reliable and high-quality solutions.
(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 30-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — MacGregor, a division of Cargotec, has announced the acquisition of a contract to supply cargo access equipment for 12 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) being constructed for CIDO Shipping by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. (CMHI). The contract also includes an option for eight additional vessels. This order was recorded in Cargotec’s Q3 2024 order intake, with deliveries set to start in Q2 2026 and be finalized by Q4 2029.
The agreement covers the design and key components of quarter ramps, side ramps, internal ramps, covers, and liftable car decks, along with installation support. MacGregor’s longstanding relationship with CMHI and its history of dependable deliveries and high-quality solutions contributed to securing this order. CIDO Shipping has previously outfitted many of its vessels with MacGregor systems, reinforcing the trust between the companies.
