Built with engineered wood in its administrative structure, the center also highlights sustainable architectural design. (PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 4-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Henkel has inaugurated a new Inspiration Center in Jundiaí, Brazil, establishing a major research and development hub for its Adhesive Technologies business in Latin America. The facility represents an investment of approximately €38 million, equivalent to about BRL 232.5 million, and forms part of the company’s broader strategy to accelerate innovation and collaboration across the region.

Spanning around 5,000 square meters, the new complex is designed to function as an innovation ecosystem where Henkel can work closely with customers, partners, and academic institutions to develop advanced adhesive, sealant and coating technologies. The project follows the model of Henkel’s global Inspiration Centers, previously introduced at the company’s headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany, and in Shanghai, China, which aim to translate technological expertise into sustainable industrial solutions.

Mark Dorn, Executive Vice President of Adhesive Technologies at Henkel, said the new center reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening innovation in Latin America by responding to regional industry trends and customer needs. The facility is intended to provide an environment where Henkel can showcase its product portfolio, collaborate with customers and partners, and accelerate the development of solutions designed to enhance competitiveness and sustainability across multiple industries.

The complex consists of two main sections. An administrative building will support daily operations and accommodate more than 100 employees, while a dedicated technical building houses more than 20 laboratories equipped with advanced testing and development capabilities. These laboratories will support research in high-performance adhesive solutions and enable faster development cycles for industrial applications.

The Inspiration Center Jundiaí also incorporates sustainable design elements. The administrative building was constructed using engineered wood, making it the largest commercial structure of its kind in the region. This approach reflects Henkel’s broader commitment to sustainable construction practices while supporting modern research infrastructure.

Nigel Fay, Corporate Vice President for Innovation and Chief Technology Officer at Henkel Adhesive Technologies, emphasized that the new laboratories significantly expand the company’s technical capabilities in the region. By bringing together customers, suppliers, universities and strategic partners, the center is designed to foster collaborative development and accelerate the creation of innovative solutions addressing emerging industrial challenges.

Henkel expects the facility to support a wide range of industry sectors by enabling the development of high-performance and sustainable technologies. The collaborative environment aims to transform regional challenges into opportunities for innovation while contributing to long-term economic growth.

The decision to establish the center in Jundiaí reflects the strategic importance of Brazil within Henkel’s Latin American operations. The city is located within one of the country’s most dynamic industrial regions, home to more than 800 manufacturing companies and known for its strong engineering and scientific expertise.

André Baron, President of Henkel in Latin America, said the investment demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to the region. Latin America offers strong growth potential due to its renewable energy resources, manufacturing capabilities and skilled technical workforce. By locating the center within an industrial and academic hub, Henkel aims to strengthen collaboration with local partners and accelerate technological development across the region.

Henkel has maintained a presence in Brazil for more than seven decades and operates in the country across both its Adhesives Technologies and Consumer Brands businesses. The company employs around 1,000 people across several locations including manufacturing facilities in Itapevi and Jundiaí, a distribution center in Jundiaí, its headquarters office in the Lapa district of São Paulo, and the ASK Academy training center on Avenida Paulista.

In 2024, Henkel reported organic sales growth of 2.6 percent, while total sales in Latin America reached €1.636 billion, accounting for approximately eight percent of the company’s global revenue.

With the new Inspiration Center now operational, Henkel aims to strengthen regional research capabilities and expand collaboration across Latin America’s industrial ecosystem, helping to accelerate the development of sustainable technologies and advanced adhesive solutions.
